Ride-on mower maintenance
This is an article on how to maintain a Husqvarna ride-on mower.
For your Husqvarna ride-on mower to work in optimal conditions, there needs to be maintenance performed after 50, 100 or 200 hours, depending on a type of your product. Some maintenance can be performed easily, and some needs to be done by the authorized local dealer.
Maintenance that can be done by you, the operator
WARNING: Before starting any maintenance make sure you have the right safety equipment and that you are aware of yours and other safety!
Petrol ride-on mower
- Make sure that the tire pressure is correct. This depends on the model of your product. Please check your ride-on mower's operator's manual for correct information.
- Clean the air filter.
- Replace the engine oil. This should be done after 50 hours or once a year (first service only).
- Replace the engine oil filter. This should be done after 50 hours or once a year (first service only).
- Do a check of the lights (if applicable).
- Do a check of the starter battery and charge if it necessary. Make sure to use a standard battery charger. NOTE: Always disconnect the charger before starting the engine.
- Clean the outer and inner surfaces of the cutting deck and the cutting deck covers. Use a water hose to clean the cutting deck while in the service position.
- Do a check of and adjust cutting height and pitch setting. A correct ground pressure makes sure that the cutting deck moves along the surface but does not press too hard against it.
- Make sure that the product does not move in neutral position.
- Do a check of the blade engagement, seat, lift, and forward drive/brake.
- Do an inspection of the collection system (for collection models only).
Battery ride-on mower
- Clean the outer and inner surface of the cutting deck. Clean below the cutting deck cover and around the blades.
- Make sure that the tire pressure is correct.
- Do a check of and adjust the parallelism of the cutting deck.
Petrol ride-on mower
- Make sure that the tire pressure is correct. This depends on the model of your product. Please check your ride-on mower's operator's manual for correct information.
- Replace the fuel filter.
- Replace the air filter.
- Replace the engine oil. Every 100 hours or once a year.
- Replace the engine oil filter. Every 100 hours or once a year.
- Replace the spark plug.
- Do a check of the lights (if applicable).
- Do a check of the battery and charge if it necessary. Make sure to use a standard battery charger. NOTE: Always disconnect the charger before starting the engine.
- Do a check of the oil in the transmission and fill if necessary.
- Clean the outer and inner surfaces of the cutting deck and the cutting deck covers. Use a water hose to clean the cutting deck while in the servicing position.
- Do a check of and adjust cutting height and pitch setting. A correct ground pressure makes sure that the cutting deck moves along the surface but does not press too hard against it.
- Examine the blades in the cutting deck. Sharpen or replace if necessary.
- Make sure that the product does not move in neutral position.
- Do a check of the blade engagement, seat, lift, and forward drive/brake.
- Do an inspection of the collection system (for collection models only).
