How to replace a starter battery in a petrol ride-on mower

This is an article on how to change a starter battery on a ride-on mower.

While using your Husqvarna petrol ride-on mower, after a certain period of time, you may notice that the product will not start fast enough or it will not start at all.

One of the reasons for this, can be that the starter battery in your petrol ride-on mower is old and needs to be replaced.

Replacing a starter battery in a petrol ride-on mower

For this you will need:

  • A wrench key
  • A battery; the type of the battery may depend on your petrol ride-on mower. Please check your operator's manual for the correct battery type.

CAUTION: Before working with the battery, make sure to take off all jewellery from your hand, as well as the watch.

Method:

  1. Lift the seat.
  2. Use the key tool to open the back cover of your rider.
  3. The battery is located on the left side of the product.
  4. Use the wrench key to unscrew the bolt connecting the NEGATIVE wire first. That is the black one.
  5. Use the wrench key to unscrew the bolt connecting the POSITIVE wire. That is the red one.
  6. Loosen the strap holding the battery and untie it.
  7. Take the battery off the ride-on mower.
  8. Put the new battery in place.
  9. Tight the strap around the battery and tie it.
  10. Screw the bolt to connect the POSITIVE wire first. Tighten it using the wrench key.
  11. Screw the bolt to connect the NEGATIVE wire. Tighten it using the wrench key.
  12. Lower the engine cover back in position and lock it.
