5 things to consider when buying a ride-on mower

Looking for a ride-on mower that is the perfect fit for your garden? Choosing the right ride-on mower for the job mainly depends on the type of grass you will cut and what the garden looks like. Here are a few things to keep in mind before you make your purchase.

When to use BioClip® or rear discharge?

Do you have a well-maintained lawn that is mowed often? Then BioClip® is the most suitable method for your purposes. The grass is cut into small pieces (mulching) that quickly break down and return to the lawn as fertiliser. If you are planning to cut taller, wilder grass, or coarser types of grass, it’s better to go with rear ejection cutting to manage large amounts of grass. All our ride-on mower models have these two options.

All-Wheel Drive

If your lawn can be slippery or is steep in places, or if you intend to use the ride-on mower all year round, AWD (All-Wheel Drive) is a great investment. It gives you better traction when you need it.

Professional or homeowner

Our advanced riding mowers are an optimal choice for professional use all year round, with larger areas to maintain. One example is the R 420TsX AWD, equipped with features like dual LED headlights, HMI display and an equipment lift.

Do you have a smaller garden area and want a perfect result as well as convenient use? Have a look at our smaller smaller residential ride-on mowers, like the R216T AWD, equipped with LED headlights, easy access controls and articulated steering. All ride-on mowers from the 200-series and up are equipped with an hour meter which helps to control service and maintenance intervals.

Easy to drive and manoeuvre

All our ride-on mowers have front-mounted cutting decks, so that you have better control over your working area. This type of cutting deck also allows you to reach under bushes and get closer to fences and walls. In addition, the unique steering articulation provides excellent maneuverability and makes it easy to drive around obstacles. This way, you work more efficiently, and get great results faster, with less effort.

Do you want excellent maneuverability when the conditions are challenging? Choose All-Wheel-Drive (AWD), which ensures traction on uneven, wet, slippery areas and slopes.

Attachments for multi-purpose use

A wide range of ride-on mowers attachments helps you complete other garden tasks all year round. Look for all attachments like a sweeper to collect grass, leaves and debris. Moss rake, scarifier, spreader and trailer for lawn preparation and a snow blade, a snow blower or a front-mounted brush to clear entrances and paths year around.
