Troubleshooting Bluetooth connection issues for Automower® robotic lawn mowers

Bluetooth usually provides a stable connection between the Automower® Connect app and the robotic lawn mower, provided you are within 30 metres (100 feet) of the mower and there are no obstacles in the way. Howewer, you may occasionally experience problems with pairing or connecting to the Automower® Connect app.

Troubleshooting the Bluetooth connection

In many cases, simply restarting the mower or your mobile device can resolve the issue. If the problem persists or occurs frequently, further troubleshooting may be necessary. Our product assistant can guide you through this process, providing step-by-step solutions based on your specific conditions.

General troubleshooting

  • Proximity to the mower: Make sure you are within 5 metres (16 feet) of the mower and remain close until the pairing is complete.
  • Connection time: Allow sufficient time for the product to connect, especially if your mower was recently restarted.
  • Connection to another device: Check if your mower is already connected to another device. Note that Automower® NERA models can support two simultaneous Bluetooth connections, while all other models only support one.
  • Location services and Bluetooth access: Check that Bluetooth is enabled in the Bluetooth settings on your phone and for the Automower® Connect app. Android users should also enable location services. See Enable location services and Bluetooth access.
  • Restart your mobile device: Sometimes, the mobile device may need to be restarted to resolve any temporary software glitches that could be preventing the Bluetooth connection.

  • Pairing request approval: On some mobile models, the Bluetooth pairing request that needs to be approved can be a bit unclear. Make sure that you do not miss this request.
  • Correct mower: If you have several mowers, ensure you are attempting to connect to the correct product by checking the serial number (found on the rating plate of the product).

    • Open the list of products that are connected to your device via Bluetooth: For iPhone users: Select Settings > Bluetooth. | For Android users: Swipe down from the top of the screen. Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
    • If the mower appears in the list, unpair it from your device: For iPhone users: Unpair your mower. | For Android users: Unpair your mower.
