How to check and refill the bevel gear with grease to 3/4 capacity on a grass trimmer and brushcutter

For your Husqvarna brushcutter and grass trimmer to work properly, the bevel gear needs to be lubricated.

How to check and refill the bevel gear with grease to 3/4 capacity

  1. Remove the cutting equipment.
  2. Check that the bevel gear is in good condition. Rotate the outgoing shaft and also attempt to move the shaft radially by hand. The shaft should rotate freely and there should be no visible radial movement of the shaft.
  3. Tilt the product to the side so that the grease plug is facing upwards.
  4. Unscrew the grease plug.
  5. Check the grease level while slowly rotating the outgoing shaft. There should be just enough grease to cover the gears. This equals a bevel gear that is filled to 3/4 capacity.
  6. If the grease level is too low, use Husqvarna bevel grease to fill the bevel gear to 3/4 capacity. Rotate the outgoing shaft slowly while applying the bevel gear grease to reduce air pockets.
  7. Tighten the grease plug.
