What is ECO mode and when should I use it?

ECO mode is a feature in Automower® robotic lawn mowers that switches off the signal in the boundary loop, guide wire and charging station when the lawn mower is in the charging station.

This mode helps save energy and reduces interference with other equipment, such as hearing aids or garage doors.

How does ECO mode work?

When ECO mode is enabled, the following applies:

  • The LED indicator in the charging station flashes green, indicating that ECO mode is active.
  • The signal in the boundary loop, guide wire and charging station is switched off when the lawn mower is in the charging station.
  • The signal is automatically switched on when the lawn mower is scheduled to operate.
  • The signal is automatically switched off when the lawn mower is parked.
  • To manually start the lawn mower in the work area, for example in a secondary area, press the STOP button before removing the lawn mower from the charging station. If you do not press STOP before removing the lawn mower from the charging station, the lawn mower cannot be started in the work area. This is normal when ECO mode is active.
  • If the lawn mower runs out of battery during operation and is manually put back in the charging station, the loop wire signal will not be switched off automatically.

Setting ECO mode from the lawn mower display

Navigate to Settings > ECO mode and press OK to enable or disable ECO mode.

Setting ECO mode in the Automower® Connect app

Select More > Settings > Operation and use the slider to enable or disable ECO mode.
