Failed to create docking point — Automower® with EPOS™ technology error message

The error message Failed to create docking point indicates issues with the position of the docking point or the charging station during the setup of the Automower® with EPOS™ technology. To resolve this, follow these steps:

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Drive the robotic lawnmower with the appDrive to an open area of the lawn with good sky view.
  2. Wait until the EPOS status is confirmed. The check symbol will turn green (see image below).
  3. Drive the robotic lawnmower back to the charging station.
  4. Retry creating the docking point.

What is the docking point?

The charging station docking point serves as a guide for your robotic lawnmower to find the charging station. It is where the robotic lawnmower stops after reversing from the charging station. Once the robotic lawnmower reaches the docking point after mowing, it will use the charging station signal to locate the station.

Docking point installation checklist

  • Charging station location: We recommend having a minimum of 6 metres (20 feet) of free space in front of the charging station. Note that only the docking point needs a clear view of the sky, not the charging station itself.
  • Create docking point: The robotic lawnmower will drive from the charging station to create the docking point. You can set the reversing distance from the charging station to the docking point in the Automower® Connect app. Make sure that the robotic lawnmower drives long enough to have a clear view of the sky when creating the docking point.
