How to change the oil in your Husqvarna lawn mower
Change the oil after every 25 hours of operation or each season. You may need to change the oil more often under dusty, dirty conditions. There are two ways of draining the oil, both shown in this video.
Before tipping the lawn mower to drain oil, empty the fuel tank by running the engine until the fuel tank is empty.
How to change the oil using an oil pump
- Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug and place the wire where it cannot come into contact with the plug
- Remove the engine oil cap/dipstick; lay aside on a clean surface
- Use a pump to empty the oil. Clean the mouth piece when you have finished to avoid oil spillage
- Check that all the oil is removed using the dipstick
- Refill the oil in accordance to the oil and amount specified in your user manual
- Use the dipstick to check the amount of oil is correct
How to change the oil by leaning your lawn mower
- Empty the fuel tank by running the lawn mower until no petrol remains
- Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug and place the wire where it cannot come into contact with the plug
- Remove the engine oil cap/dipstick; lay aside on a clean surface
- Put a jar at a suitable distance from the lawn mower
- Tip the lawn mower towards the jar so that the air filter is the highest point
- Clean up any oil spillage
- Use the dip stick to check that all oil is removed
- Refill the oil in accordance to the oil and amount specified in your user manual
- Use the dipstick to check the amount of oil is correct
