What is the lifetime of a BLi-X battery?
The lifetime of a Husqvarna BLi battery depends on the application and usage.
Typically, the lifetime of Husqvarna BLi batteries is up to 600 complete cycles for consumer batteries and up to 1500 complete cycles for professional batteries.
A complete cycle refers to one complete charge and discharge.
Consumer batteries
BLi10, BLi20, BLi22, BLi30, 40-B70, 40-B140
Professional batteries
BLi100, BLi200, BLi200X, BLi300, BLi950X
BLi battery lifespan factors
Operating temperatures
Extreme temperatures can significantly impact battery life. High temperatures accelerate chemical reactions within the battery, leading to faster degradation.
Conversely, very low temperatures can reduce battery performance and capacity.
Application
The lifespan of your battery also depends on which tool the battery is being used in.
If you use the battery in a hedge trimmer, the battery might last longer than if you use it in a leaf blower or brushcutter, where the battery needs to handle more constant and higher loads over long periods of time.
Depth of discharge
Deep discharges (using more of battery‘s capacity) can shorten its life. Shallow discharges are gentler on the battery.
It‘s advisable to avoid fully discharging the battery whenever possible.
State of charge
Keeping the battery at extreme states of charge (fully charged of fully discharged) for extended periods can degrade it.
Ideally, maintain the battery at around 50% SoC when storing it for an extended period.
Storage conditions
Storing a lithium-ion battery in a cool, dry place at moderate temperatures helps maintain its health. Avoid leaving it in a hot car or exposing it to direct sunlight.
In general, the battery will experience ageing and capacity loss over time, even when not in use.
