How to replace a cutting deck drive belt on a garden tractor
If the cutting deck drive belt on your Husqvarna garden tractor is damaged or slips, it needs to be replaced.
Replacing a cutting deck drive belt on your garden tractor depends on the model of your product.
- Remove the cutting deck.
- Remove any dirt and grass around the bearing housing, blade pulleys and from the top surface of the cutting deck.
- Remove the bolt (A), the washer (B) and the idler pulley (C).
- Remove the cutting deck belt (D) from the blade pulley on the cutting deck.
- Install the new cutting deck in the opposite sequence. Make sure that the cutting deck belt is in the correct position in all belt pulleys.
CAUTION: Make sure that the cutting deck belt is not twisted.
- Remove the cutting deck.
- Remove any dirt and grass around the bearing housing, blade pulleys and from the top surface of the cutting deck.
- Remove the bolt (A), the washer (B) and the idler pulley (C).
- Remove the cutting deck belt (D) from the blade pulley on the cutting deck.
- Install the new cutting deck in the opposite sequence. Make sure that the cutting deck belt is in the correct position in all belt pulleys.
CAUTION: Make sure that the cutting deck belt is not twisted.
- Park the product on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
- Put the cutting deck in the lowest position.
- Remove any dirt and grass around the mandrels and from the top surface of the cutting deck.
- Remove the drive belt (A) from the clutch pulley (B) on the engine shaft.
- Remove the drive belt from the mandrel pulleys (C) and the idler pulley (D).
- Install the drive belt (A) around the mandrel pulleys.
CAUTION: Put the drive belt in all the grooves on the cutting deck pulleys correctly. The drive belt can become damaged if it is not installed correctly. - Install the drive belt around the idler pulleys (C).
- Install the drive belt around the clutch pulley (D) on the engine shaft.
- Put the cutting deck in the transport position.
- Park the product on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
- Put the cutting deck in the lowest position.
- Remove any dirt and grass around the mandrels and from the top surface of the cutting deck.
- Remove the drive belt from the clutch pulley (M), mandrel pulley (R) and all idler pulleys (V).
- Install the drive belt around both mandrel pulleys (R) and around the idler pulleys (V).
- Install the belt on the clutch pulley (M).
CAUTION: Check that the belt is properly routed in all mower pulley grooves. - Raise the attachment lift lever to the highest position.
- Park the product on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
- Put the cutting deck in the lowest position.
- Remove any dirt and grass around the mandrels and from the top surface of the cutting deck.
- Remove the drive belt (A) from the clutch pulley (B) on the engine shaft.
- Remove the drive belt from the mandrel pulleys (C) and the idler pulley (D).
- Install the drive belt (A) around the mandrel pulleys.
CAUTION: Put the drive belt in all the grooves on the cutting deck pulleys correctly. The drive belt can become damaged if it is not installed correctly.
NOTE: You must twist the drive belt by 180° at 2 positions (X) to align with the pulleys. Make sure that the thinner part of the drive belt is in the direction of the groove in each pulley. - Install the drive belt around the idler pulleys (C).
- Install the drive belt around the clutch pulley (D) on the engine shaft.
- Put the cutting deck in the transport position.
