How to replace a battery in a petrol-powered garden tractor

After a certain period of time of using your Husqvarna garden tractor, you may notice that the garden tractor will not start fast enough or it will not start at all.

One of the reasons for this can be that the battery in your petrol-powered garden tractor is old and needs to be replaced.

For this you will need:

• a wrench key
• a battery; the type of the battery may depend on your petrol garden tractor. Please check your operator’s manual for the correct battery type.

WARNING: Risk of electric shock and burn injuries. Before working with the battery, make sure that you remove any jewellery from your hands, as well as watches. Metal items that touch the battery terminals can cause burn injuries, electric shock and short circuit of the battery.

CAUTION: Location of the battery in your garden tractor depends on the product model.

How to replace the battery in a petrol-powered garden tractor

1. Remove the terminal cover on the black battery cable.
2. Remove the screws, the washer, the nut and the black battery cable from the negative (-) terminal on the battery.
3. Remove the terminal cover on the red battery cable.
4. Remove the screws, the washer, the nut and the red battery cable from the positive (+) terminal on the battery.
5. Carefully remove the battery from the product.
6. Put a new battery in the position.
7. Attach the red battery cable to the positive (+) terminal on the battery and install the nut and the screw.
8. Install the terminal cover on the red battery cable.
9. Attach the black battery cable to the negative (-) terminal on the battery and install the nut and the screw.
10. Install the terminal cover on the black battery cable.
